Both Torinos will have a mix of old an new in their
interiors. For the time being, the cars will retain a stock dash
panel and will use a custom one-of gauge cluster. Luckily the
design of the 1968/69 Torino dash makes it very easy to recess gauges
into the dash pad. In 1968, Georgia Torino had a stunning nugget
gold interior and the Texas Torino had blue with kiwi accents.
Fortunately moving into the new millennium, the colors will change to
both being black as it is the easiest to find color wise, and the
easiest to color match.
There will be two sets of seats used depending on what the car is being used for. Stock seats will be used and fully reupholstered with revised springs and new
custom foam for htting carshows and weekend cruising. High performance racing seats will be used to track driving and also for street driving. These seats have great side bolstering to keep the driver and passenger planted in the seats to endure the lateral acceleration from the track.
Up in the air now is a removable roll cage
to stiffen the car up for both street driving and on the track.
Still not sure which direction we will go on this one. Choose a category above to view the goals and progress for each section. |
